With nearly 30 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Leve has excelled as the chief legal officer, a corporate resource officer and the board secretary for Pinnacol Assurance in Denver, Colorado since 2012. In these invaluable positions, he is responsible for overseeing the legal department, handling administrative functions, managing board relations, and conducting strategic planning. Likewise, Mr. Leve is renowned for his expertise in insurance, mergers and acquisitions, international corporate governance, executive compensation, and complex financing, among other aspects of his field.
Prior to his tenure with Pinnacol Assurance, Mr. Leve was active as the general counsel for healthcare finance and administration for the State of Tennessee between 2009 and 2012. He previously found success as the senior vice president, chief legal officer, and corporate secretary with Sitel Worldwide in Nashville, Tennessee from 2003 to 2008. Mr. Leve initially worked with Verizon Information Services, operating as the international and corporate secretary, associate general counsel, and executive director from 1995 to 2003.
To support his ambitions, Mr. Leve pursued an education at the University of Southern California, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts. He concluded his studies at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 1991, graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. Mr. Leve also served his country as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force before embarking on his civilian career path.
Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Leve has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his immediate circles. Since 2017, he has contributed to Cake Insure as a board member. He was further recruited as the secretary and treasurer for the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds. Moreover, he has been appointed as a board president for the Colorado Civil Justice League and a board member for The Boy Scouts of America, the Bonfils Blood Center, the Williamson County Board of Education, ClientLogic Philippines, Axesa Informacion, and various other nonprofit organizations. Elected to his local public school boards, Mr. Leve is also dedicated to helping those in need as a teacher of English as a Second Language in Castle Rock, Colorado.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Leve has accrued several accolades throughout his career. Obtaining an AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell in 2001, he was subsequently recognized as a Governance Fellow and a Board Leadership Fellow by the National Association of Corporate Directors in 2015 and a National Legal Trailblazer by OnConferences in 2019. Mr. Leve was additionally honored by OnConferences among the Top 10 Corporate Counsel in 2021, the Top 50 National Executive Teams in 2023, the Top 10 National Corporate Counsel Teams in 2023, and the Top 50 Corporate Counsel in 2023.
Mr. Leve has attributed his success to the unwavering support of his family, including his loving wife and six children who have maintained a stellar support system enabling him to work around the world. He was also inspired by his late father, who instilled within him a phenomenal work ethic while personifying perseverance, commitment and support throughout his career. He is most proud of his ability to help those in need, including a child who required emergency medical care, and he hopes to remain an inspiration to others by making a positive impact on people’s lives. In the coming years, Mr. Leve hopes to advance into a stronger executive position that will allow him to manage an entire organization toward achieving their mission while giving back to those in need.
