Beginning his legal career as an intern at The Ferraro Law Firm in 2003, he later served as a litigation associate at Tarshis, Catania, Mahon, & Milligram, PLLC from 2005 to 2008. In 2008, he founded Minard Law, where he currently serves as a managing member. Simultaneously, he has been the chief executive officer of Minard’s Family Farms, LLC, since 2008 and a founding member of the board of directors for Empire Cannabis Manufacturers Alliance, a New York-based organization dedicated to lobbying on behalf of the cannabis industry in the state.
Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Minard’s dedication to law and agriculture has been evident. Born and raised on an apple farm, he transitioned into law fueled by his passion for public speaking and a desire for new challenges. Despite his legal pursuits, his ties to agriculture remained strong. In 2014, he acquired a farm and transformed it into a premier agritourism operation, recognized as Best in the USA by USA Today. Additionally, he ventured into the CBD and cannabis industry, serving as general counsel for Hepworth Ag Inc., formerly Hempire State Growers Inc., since 2019 and as general counsel for Hepworth Pura since 2023.
A defining moment in Mr. Minard’s career lies in his contributions to the CBD and cannabis industry. His work has helped establish a national network for marketing and community-building. He has also excelled in public speaking, articulating the law’s implications to professionals and earning accolades such as the Distinguished Faculty Award from the National Business Institute in 2014.
