His journey in law began as an associate at Litman & Muchnik in 1972, progressing through various roles to ultimately become a shareholder at Shapiro, Blasi, Wasserman & Hermann, P.A., where he remained for nearly two decades.
Mr. Wasserman’s educational background gave him a strong foundation in the industry. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maimi in 1967, followed by a Juris Doctor from the School of Law at the University of Miami in 1972. Additionally, he was admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District and the United States Supreme Court of Florida in 1972, as well as the United States Court of Appeals in 1981.
Mr. Wasserman’s expertise lies in family law, particularly in the realm of collaborative law. His passion for this approach to conflict resolution led him to transition his practice exclusively to collaborative law, believing it to be a more beneficial method for clients and their families compared to traditional litigation.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Wasserman has been deeply involved in various civic and professional organizations, holding leadership positions such as vice president of the J David Posnack Jewish Community Center and president of the Broward County Bar Association. He has also contributed to the legal community through his extensive pro bono work and his involvement in shaping the standards and ethics of collaborative law. Looking ahead, he aims to continue his contributions to the legal profession, particularly in the realm of collaborative law. He envisions himself continuing to author blogs on the subject, furthering the dissemination of knowledge in this area. As he reflects on his journey, he emphasizes the importance of upholding the ethical standards of the legal profession and remains committed to promoting these values in his practice and beyond.
