William D. Bond, III, retired assistant district attorney general with the State of Tennessee, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law and legal services.

With 40 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Bond has excelled as assistant district attorney general at the State of Tennessee and retired from the position in 2019. His areas of expertise include toxicology, DUIs, and vehicular homicide. He garnered a stellar reputation as a prosecutor from 1978 to 2019.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Bond pursued an education at the University of Memphis, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and economics in 1975. He concluded his studies at the same, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in 1977. He has been licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, the Tennessee State Bar, and the United States Tax Court.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Bond has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He contributed to the Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry. He was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha and Omicron Delta Epsilon and was included in Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities from 1974 and 1975.

Mr. Bond has an array of notable career accomplishments of which he is deeply proud. He helped craft a new “Chop Shop” law, contributed to legislation implementing the Victim Rights Amendment in Tennessee and legislation allowing up to two years of probation for Domestic Violence offenders who suffered from substance abuse, suggested changes in the Implied Consent statute, and a host of other achievements. In the immediate future, he intends to remain active in the community at some level.
