Tetyana Rabczak (Budyakova), Adjunct Professor of Law at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and Vice President of Legal, Regulatory, and Policy at The Accelerate Group LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in energy and environmental regulation.

With 21 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Rabczak has excelled as an environmental and regulatory attorney, currently serving as an adjunct professor at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and vice president of legal, regulatory, and policy at The Accelerate Group LLC since 2023. Ms. Rabczak currently also serves as a member of the National Consortium for the Advancement of Long Duration Energy Storage Technology.

Ms. Rabczak began her career as a public interest environmental attorney and FR coordinator at a grassroots non-profit organization, Environment People Law, in Lviv, Ukraine, from 2003 to 2005. In 2024, she co-authored a textbook on EU environmental directives and co-translated relevant EU directives for the book’s compendium. In 2005, she co-founded the non-profit Bureau of Environmental Investigations in L’viv and served on its board from 2005 to 2006. She worked as an International Arbitration and Litigation associate at Magister and Partners LLC in Kyiv from 2006 to 2007. She served as a secondee at the Colgate-Palmolive Company in New York in 2008. Ms. Rabczak continued her career as a senior commercial and energy associate at the Kyiv office of CMS Cameron McKenna from 2008 to 2015.

Upon obtaining her second Master of Laws degree in 2016, Ms. Rabczak established herself as the legal and policy advisor to Commissioner McCabe with the Illinois Commerce Commission in the State of Illinois from 2016 to 2017. She found success as an attorney advisor to Chairman Papadimitriu at the Illinois Pollution Control Board in the State of Illinois from 2017 to 2019. At the Harris School of Public Policy with the University of Chicago, she was active as a professional advisor of the Energy and Environmental Policy Laboratory in 2019. She garnered a stellar reputation as the legal and policy advisor to Chairman Carrie K. Zalewski with the Illinois Commerce Commission in the State of Illinois from 2019 to 2023, advising the Chairman on the complex journey of regulating public utilities and retail power suppliers through Illinois’ transition to a clean energy economy.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Rabczak pursued an education at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, where she earned a Juris Doctorate in 2002. She continued her academic efforts at Wake Forest Law, obtaining a Master of Laws, focusing on environmental law and carbon trading, in 2008. She joined Abrams Environmental Law Clinic within the University of Chicago Law School in 2016 before she concluded her studies at the University of Chicago Law School, graduating with a Master of Laws in 2016. Early in her career, she interned at the Chicago Climate Exchange and the Environmental Defense Fund in Chicago.

Ms. Rabczak compliments her professional achievements with extensive volunteering work. Among other accomplishments, she translated a book “Brain Rules for Babies” by John Medina into Ukrainian language on pro-bono basis, published in Ukraine in 2015, to give access to the modern research on child brain development to the Ukrainian mothers. Ms. Rabczak has actively participated in supporting Ukraine’s fight for self-determination and defending its liberties and European choice since 2004. In her voluntary work, she has been actively supporting Olesia Korzhenevska, a former movie director who became an aid provider in Ukraine, in sourcing funds and resources to support individuals affected by conflict in Ukraine’s war-torn regions since 2014. In 2023, Ms. Rabczak also supported the Ukrainian Medical Association of North America in navigating regulations of bringing medical supplies to Ukraine.

Since early 2022, Ms. Rabczak regularly volunteers her time as a pro bono attorney for the SelfReliance Association in Chicago, supporting Ukrainian immigrants escaping war in Ukraine with pro-bono legal advice and representation in immigration matters. In the immediate future, she intends to enrich her expertise further and broaden the reach of her boutique consulting firm, aiming for widespread recognition and impact.
