With a distinguished career spanning over four decades, Mr. Taronji has established himself as a prominent figure in the legal profession. His journey began as a captain in military intelligence in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1970, where he honed invaluable leadership and teamwork skills that would shape his future endeavors. Following his military service, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from George Washington University in 1972. He went on to earn a Juris Doctor from Georgetown Law in 1976, solidifying his educational foundation.

 Mr. Taronji’s illustrious career in law spans several decades and encompasses a diverse range of roles across prominent organizations. He currently serves as an attorney advisor in the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), a position he has held since 2020. Prior to this, he held various positions within the FTC, including attorney in the Office of the General Counsel from 2006 to 2020 and attorney in the Bureau of Competition from 1976 to 1979. His expertise extends beyond the FTC, as evidenced by his role as of counsel in the Antitrust Practice Group at Howrey LLP from 2004 to 2006. His corporate experience includes serving as vice president, general counsel, and secretary at Dayton Superior from 1999 to 2003, and as general counsel for the Americas Region and Teradata Computer Systems Group at NCR Corporation from 1996 to 1999. Prior to his tenure at NCR Corporation, he held similar leadership positions at Packaging Corporation of America, Tenneco, Inc., where he served as vice president and general counsel from 1988 to 1995.

Throughout his career, Mr. Taronji has been a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusivity within the legal profession. He has served in leadership roles in various organizations, including the American Bar Association and the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia. His efforts have been recognized with accolades such as the A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr. Awards and Diversity Awards from the FTC. Beyond his professional achievements, he is dedicated to mentoring young law students and promoting equality in the legal field.
