Lane Dennard, JD, Adjunct Professor at Emory Law School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in labor and employment law.

Mr. Dennard is a distinguished professional with more than five decades of experience in labor law and a passion for giving back to his community through pro bono work for veterans. He has worked with many prestigious organizations throughout his career, including Ogletree Deakins, King and Spalding, LLP, the Mercer University School of Law, and the University of Georgia School of Law. He presently contributes his expertise as an adjunct professor at the Emory Law School. Prior to establishing his law career, he served as a captain of the United States Army and company commander in Vietnam.

Mr. Dennard earned an artium baccalaureus degree from Mercer University in 1966. After he completed his initial education, he joined the United States Army, where he was recognized with the Silver Star, the Air Metal, an Army Commendation Medal, and a two-time recipient of the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster. When he returned from Vietnam, he entered law school, where he obtained his juris doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Mr. Dennard is the co-founder and acted as the co-director of the Emory Law Volunteer Clinic for Veterans in Atlanta, Georgia, before retirement. He additionally participated as a member of the Alumni Board of Directors for Mercer University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He has been acknowledged with numerous awards, such as the Emory Public Interest Committee (EPIC) Inspiration Award for Leadership, the Georgia Bar’s Marshall-Tuttle Award, the Volunteer of the Year from the Georgia Justice Project, Leading Labor and Employment Lawyers in Georgia, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, and the Saint Thomas More Award from the Saint Thomas More Society. He was also recognized as a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Mr. Dennard is the co-author of a book titled “Collateral Consequences of Arrests and Convictions: Policy and Law in Georgia.” He cites his most notable achievement as helping to establish the Emory Law Volunteer Clinic for Veterans to provide pro bono legal representation for veterans. He also takes pride in mentoring the next generation of lawyers.
