Brent Ferrin Ashworth, owner of B. Ashworth’s, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in legal services.

With 49 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Ashworth has excelled as owner of B. Ashworth’s since 2006. He began his career as assistant county attorney of Carbon County from 1975 to 1976. He worked as an associate attorney at Frandsen & Keller from 1976 to 1977. He then garnered a stellar reputation as vice president of legal affairs and secretary at Nature’s Sunshine Products Inc. from 1977 to 2003.

Mr. Ashworth continued his career as vice president of Neways from 2003 to 2004. He found success in his own private practice from 2004 to 2005. At Ashworth and Sandberg, he contributed as partner from 2005 to 2006. He held the role of general counsel at ZIJA International from 2012 to 2015.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Ashworth served in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserve School from 1969 to 1975. He pursued an education at Brigham Young University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1972. Following that, he continued his academic efforts at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in history and political science in 1975.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Ashworth has held executive and leadership positions at numerous organizations. Many of his roles were taken up with museums, including the Crandall Historical Printing Museum, George E. Freestone Boy Scout Museum, and the Fort Douglas Military Museum. He also gave his time to the Provo Landmarks Commission, Boy Scouts of America, Celebration Health Foundation, and the Utah County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Other institutions he contributed to include Provo’s library board and landmarks commissions, American Heritage School, Missionary Training Center, and Provo Education Foundation.

Mr. Ashworth has held other multifaceted roles, including mayor pro tempore of Payson City and city councilman on the planning commission. He gained recognition for his contributions to local history through the documentary “Murder Among the Mormons” and co-authored “Show & Tell: A Unique Journey Through History from the Life of Brent Ashworth.” Additionally, he maintains affiliations with several organizations, including Kiwanis International, the Emily Dickinson Society of Utah, and various legal associations.

In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Ashworth has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He received the Outstanding Contributor Award from the Utah State Historical Division and the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. He was presented with the Outstanding Eagle Scout Award in 2011 and the Silver Beaver Award in 2006 by the Boy Scouts of America.
