Michael Jaskula, JD, attorney at Law Offices of Michael Jaskula, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in legal counsel.
With nearly 30 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Jaskula has excelled as an attorney at the Law Offices of Michael Jaskula since 1997. He worked with Prudential Financial for six years. Before embarking on his professional path, he pursued an education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in international relations with a minor in French. He continued his academic efforts at Chicago-Kent College of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Jaskula has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He held executive leadership roles at Kent County Building Authority and the Zoning Advisory Committee of the Aldermanic Campaign. In addition to his primary vocation, he remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Jaskula has accrued several accolades throughout his career. One of his most impressive accomplishments was when he served as a contract attorney on a False Claims Act case against Northrop Grumman Corporation, a defense contractor. After 15 years of working on his side of the case with three other law firms, he developed a $750 million case that was settled in 2005. It was the largest settlement in Illinois that year and the largest settlement of any kind under the 1986 amendments of the False Claims Act. He and his collaborators’ efforts on the case earned each of them a nomination for Trial Lawyer of the Year.
Mr. Jaskula also achieved a significant milestone when successfully representing an African-American daycare owner in a defamation case against The State of Illinois Licensing Authority. Despite false accusations of maintaining an unsafe environment leading to a child’s injury, Mr. Jaskula prevailed in a hard-fought legal battle. Looking ahead, Mr. Jaskula plans to spend three to five months in a warm destination during the winter and explore more of the world.
