With 26 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Miller has excelled while running his own firm, the Law Offices of JP Miller Jr. since 1997. In addition to his legal practice, he has garnered a stellar reputation as a certified agent with the National Football League Player’s Association since 1997. As a professional sports agent Mr. Miller has represented hundreds of professional football players in addition to a number of other athletes and coaches in various sports over multiple aspects of their careers.
Before embarking on his professional career, Mr. Miller pursued his education at San Diego State University. At SDSU he earned a Bachelor of Science in business finance, with an emphasis in real estate finance, in 1992 while also being a nationally ranked Division I track and field athlete. He concluded his studies at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in 1996. He has been designated as an expert witness as in his profession as a professional sports agent in the states of California and Texas.
Beyond his responsibilities within his career field, Mr. Miller has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He is an elected Trustee at the Cajon Valley Union School District since 2016, sat on the Sharp Grossmont Hospital Foundation, and is a founding board member to the San Diego County Gun Owners Political Action Committee. He was a candidate for Superior Court Judge in San Diego, California in 2010 and 2012.
Mr. Miller is a member of several professional organizations in relation to his profession and career. These include San Diego State University Alumni Association, the San Diego State Legacy Club (Varsity letter winners), NFL Player’s Association, CFL Player’s Association, multiple Bar organizations and the Sports Lawyer’s Association.
Considering his impressive undertakings, Mr. Miller has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was presented with the Silver Star Award by the Daily Californian in 2019 as the top Family Law attorney in the East County of San Diego, Ca., was nominated as a Super Lawyer in multiple years, and was voted as the Best Family Law Attorney in San Diego by the San Diego Reader publication in 2020 and as a finalist in the category in 2021, and 2022. He has also been recognized by Expertise Publishing to be among the Top 16 Exceptional Attorneys in South County, the Top 17 Divorce Attorneys in East County, and among the Top Family Law Attorneys in North San Diego County from 2020 through 2023.
