Megan R. Geer, an attorney at Collins Legal PLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of legal service.
Long driven by a passion for helping others, Ms. Geer has distinguished herself as an attorney at Collins Legal PLC, a Nashville-based law firm that specializes in real estate law, criminal law, general legal counsel, litigation, and dispute resolution, among other areas. Focusing much of her efforts on criminal defense, Ms. Geer strives to humanize her clients and provide them with a voice during their time of greatest need.
Initially studying political science at Southern Methodist University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2010, Ms. Geer went on to serve as a summer law clerk at Jones, Hawkins & Farmer PLC in 2011, and later clerked for the Knox County Public Defender’s Office in 2013. During this time, she continued her studies at the University of Tennessee Knoxville College of Law, from which she graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, with a concentration in advocacy and dispute, in 2014. She was promptly admitted to practice law by the state of Tennessee, and by the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
Ms. Geer served as an assistant public defender at the Nashville Metropolitan Public Defender’s Office in 2014, through which she represented countless clients in both misdemeanor and felony trials. She subsequently worked as an attorney at May & McKinney PLLC in 2017, and as an associate attorney for the Grimmett Law Firm between 2021 and 2023. Having heard of Ms. Geer’s reputation as a tireless public defender and criminal law advocate, Grover Collins, the founder of Collins Legal, extended her an offer to work at his firm, leading to her current endeavors.
Among her most dearly held accomplishments, Ms. Geer is proud to have provided competent representation during several challenging legal proceedings – in one case, a client who had been found not guilty reached out in gratitude for her work, which enabled the client to continue pursuing their legal studies at Vanderbilt Law School. Looking ahead, Ms. Geer aspires to further enhance her knowledge and skills in the foreseeable future, allowing her to approach her practice more creatively and become a better-rounded attorney who can assist clients in additional ways.
