Mr. Mahoney initially studied political science and philosophy at the University of Southern California, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, in 1999. Following this accomplishment, he took inspiration from the example of his mentor, Marcus Tucker, who served as a superior court judge. He subsequently attended the School of Law at Howard University, where he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2002. During this time, Mr. Mahoney clerked on behalf of the Long Beach Superior Court, after which he went on to serve for several years at Rose, Klein & Marias LLP.
To remain aware of developments in his chosen field, Mr. Mahoney maintains his alignment with several relevant organizations, including the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Long Beach Bar Association and the Langston Bar Association, of which he is a lifetime member. He is also affiliated with the California Employment Lawyers Association and the American Inns of Court. He was first admitted to practice law in the state of California in 2005, and has since been admitted by the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Among his most cherished accomplishments, Mr. Mahoney is proud to have established a diverse firm with a familial atmosphere, as well as a corporate culture in which every team member is dedicated to achieving excellence and performing at their highest level. On a more personal note, he was gratified to feature in both Forbes and Fortune magazine, through which he shared his insights regarding employment issues and discussed his legal practice and law firm in 2023.
