With over 45 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Fairbank has excelled as mediator at Fairbank ADR since 2014. Concurrent to this position, he served as adjunct professor of law at the University of Southern California since 2004. He began his career as an associate attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP from 1977 to 1984. He continued his career at same, garnering a stellar reputation in the role of partner from 1984 to 1996. He established himself at Fairbank ADR as a founding partner from 1996 to 2014.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Fairbank pursued an education at Stanford University, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1972. He continued his studies at the University of California Berkeley, graduating with a Master of Library Science in 1973. He concluded his academic efforts at the New York University School of Law, obtaining his Juris Doctorate in 1977. In addition to his primary vocation, he remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the California chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Fairbank has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was recognized by Chambers USA as Band 1 Nationwide Mediator by in 2023 and Band 2 Nationwide Mediator in 2022, and listed by the Los Angeles Business Journal among the Top 100 Lawyers in the Los Angeles in 1995. Best Lawyers named him the Lawyer of the Year in Mediation for Los Angeles in 2022. He was presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.
