Well-regarded for almost two decades of service in her area of expertise, Ms. Trapp has distinguished herself through her work at Dechert LLP, a global law firm specializing in asset management, complex litigation, finance and real estate, private equity, and regulatory affairs, among other practices. In her capacity at the firm, Ms. Trapp leverages her deep knowledge of private credit fund formation, collateralized loan obligations, insurance structuring, and regulatory compliance to assist clients in both the United States and Europe. Having initially joined Dechert as an associate in 2011, she previously worked for several years at the Irish Funds Industry Association as an executive officer of legal and technical affairs.
Ms. Trapp first studied at the University of Denver, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, magna cum laude, in 2004. Following this accomplishment, she received a graduate diploma in law at the University College Cork, a constituent university of the National University of Ireland, in 2006. Ms. Trapp concluded her academic efforts at the Saint Louis University School of Law, graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2007. For several years during her academic journey, she had already accrued practical experience in the field of law, beginning as an intern at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and later serving as a senior law clerk at the Fourth Judicial District Court in Colorado.
Highly sought after as an expert resource, Ms. Trapp has contributed to the writing of several articles that have appeared in such publications as Butterworths Journal of International Banking and Financial Law, The Investment Lawyer, and FUNDfire, among others. Likewise, she has been invited to deliver numerous speaking engagements at industry webinars and conferences.
Among her most cherished accomplishments, Ms. Trapp is particularly proud to have been admitted to practice law in both the United States and Ireland, which has provided her with a unique niche in the field. In accounting for her success, she largely credits those who have supported her at both Dechert and the industry at large, as well as the love and support of her family. Looking toward the future, Ms. Trapp aspires to become an equity partner in the years to come, and to serve as the co-lead of Dechert’s private funds group in the United States.
