Poul Arendal, retired attorney, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in legal guidance.
With 45 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Arendal has excelled as an advising attorney and analyst working with multiple financial institutions, global corporations, and political leaders and candidates. He began his career as a flight officer and military pilot in the Denmark military from 1959 to 1965, completing his service with the rank of Second Lieutenant. He worked as a system analyst at Scandinavian Airlines from 1965 from 1969, Lufthansa Systems from 1965 to 1971, and the European Space Organization from 1972 to 1975, where he also contributed as a mathematician.
After immigrating to the United States in 1975, Mr. Arendal found success as a financial analyst at The World Bank from 1975 to 1995. In the mid-1990s, he switched his focus to law in the political sphere. He served as an attorney at the Office of the Counsel to the President for President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 1998, the Al Gore 2000 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee from 1999 to 2000, and the Center for Working Capital at the AFL-CIO in 2001. He concluded his career as an attorney and financial officer for John Kerry for President from 2003 to 2004.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Arendal pursued an education at Copenhagen Business School where he earned a Bachelor of Science in computer management and artificial intelligence in 1969. He continued his academic efforts at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah, obtaining a Master of Business Administration in 1975. He concluded his studies at the College of Law at American University and graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1996 and was licensed to practice law by the Maryland State Bar that same year.
Mr. Arendal attributes his decades of success to his intelligence and ability to master different languages, as he speaks Danish, English and German. In his retirement, he enjoys swimming and reviving his athleticism.
