In her capacity as an attorney, Ms. Maurer serves as an in-house adviser regarding the DnD intellectual property, as well as supporting the legal functions of the digital gaming division. Likewise talented in the field of data privacy, she has published extensively on the subjects of artificial intelligence, name, image and likeness law regarding internet handles, and third-party content. Well-regarded for her accomplishments and advocacy on behalf of the LGBTQIA+ community, she was lauded with an Excellence for the Future Award in LGBT+ Legal Issues by the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction in 2022.
Ms. Maurer initially studied history and anthropology at State University of New York Brockport, where she attained a Bachelor of Science. Following this accomplishment, she went on to Kent State University, from which she earned a Master of Library and Information Science in digital librarianship. Transitioning toward law, she subsequently attended Case Western Reserve University and graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in technology and the arts, with honors. For her excellent academic performance, she was recognized on the Dean’s Honors List from 2020 to 2022, having received several earlier scholarships – including one from Activision Blizzard Inc. In accounting for her success, Ms. Maurer credits her decision to choose carefully when considering how to proceed along her career path.
