Luke S. Richbourg, the principal attorney at RichbourgLaw, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of legal service.
Hailing from more than 25 years of experience in the field of legal service, Mr. Richbourg has found success through his role as an attorney in private practice, through which he has specialized in legal work on behalf of emerging companies, such as Ranger Partners LP and the CDK Group in New York, and several legal groups in Argentina. Among his areas of expertise, he focuses much of his practice resides in the fields of finance, corporate formation, securities, transactions, emerging markets, and private equity. He previously served as a private equity project manager at Pactual Electra from 1999 to 2001, a visiting attorney with Vieira, Rezende, Barbosa e Guerreiro in 1999, and as an associate for Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP from 1995 until 1999.
Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Richbourg served concurrently as an adjunct professor at the Fordham University School of Law between 2015 and 2017, during which time he taught entrepreneurial law. He also represented U.S. private equity investments in Latin America through his role as a partner at Mayer Brown from 2004 to 2009. Additionally, Mr. Richbourg has maintained his affiliation with the American Bar Association.
Mr. Richbourg initially studied government at Dartmouth College, from which he received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in 1995. Following this accomplishment, he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence at the Cornell Law School. During his studies there, he notably served as managing editor for the prestigious Cornell Law Review, the college’s flagship legal journal. Mr. Richbourg later attended the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he pursued the MSx program and graduated with a Master of Science in management in 2010.
Among his most cherished achievements, Mr. Richbourg is particularly proud to have leveraged his education in crafting a prosperous life for himself. In accounting for his subsequent success, he largely credits his background as the child of divorced parents – the reality of his situation led him to attend many different schools throughout his youth, which imbued him with a certain flexibility and adaptability that lent itself well to his future career aspirations. Looking toward the next five to 10 years, Mr. Richbourg aspires to attain greater stability in his legal practice.
