Daniel K. Wiig, JD, MBA, an associate general counsel at the City University of New York, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of legal service.
Hailing from numerous years of experience in his chosen field, Mr. Wiig has distinguished himself through his role as associate general counsel for the City University of New York, the public university system of New York City. In this capacity, he is responsible for advising 25 constituent colleges and affiliated institutions regarding governance, public procurement, transactions, dispute resolution, and the ethical obligations of New York state officials. Proud to have cultivated an excellent reputation within the legal community, Mr. Wiig has worked diligently to consolidate contracts into single “Master Service Agreements.” He has also been instrumental in the revision process of college governing documents, thereby ensuring clarity in campus operations, among other accomplishments to his credit.
Mr. Wiig first studied at St. John’s University, where he graduated, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Following this accomplishment, he went on to Fordham University, where he attained an MBA in 2002, and the Brooklyn Law School, where he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, in 2006. Well-regarded for his subsequent work in legal service, he proceeded to align himself with several different organizations in both the public and private sphere, including the New York City Housing Authority, the Municipal Credit Union, and various law firms. In honor of his achievements, he has received several accolades from the New York County Lawyers Association, which bestowed him with the Kobak Prize in 2012 and a Young Lawyers’ Section Appreciation Award in 2015. Looking toward the future, Mr. Wiig hopes to achieve even greater feats of legal service and continue exerting a positive impact on society.
