Eminently skilled in his profession, he initially studied at St. Louis University, where he attained a Bachelor of Science in 1963 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1966. Following this accomplishment, he was admitted to practice law in the states of Ohio and Missouri, after which he joined the U.S. Air Force as a Judge Advocate General until 1971. Mr. Gold subsequently became a partner at what is now Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell Ltd. Departing from the firm in 2010, he formed Ford, Gold, Kovoor & Simon Ltd., where he remains active as a managing member. 

Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Gold has garnered acclaim for his deep involvement in local community activities, particularly with the Boy Scouts of America. To wit, he facilitated the transfer of a wealth of Boy Scout art by such figures as Norman Rockwell, Walt Disney, Carl Clemens Mortiz Rungius, Howard Chandler Christy and Joseph Christian Leyendecker to the Medici Museum of Art in Trumbull County. For this, and other such accomplishments, Mr. Gold was bestowed with one of the highest accolades in scouting, the Silver Buffalo Award, in 2020. Other achievements to his credit include his winning of the Community Star Award by the Warren Tribune Chronicle in 2008, and his recognition as an Outstanding Non-Rotarian Volunteer of the Year Award by his local chapter of Rotary International.
