Drawing on over a decade of experience, Mr. Thayer is a rising leader in the field of law. Specializing in compliance, strategy, privacy and telecom law pertaining to technology, he currently operates as the principal attorney at his owner law firm, Thayer PLLC, based in Washington, D.C., where he has served clients throughout the country since 2021. Additionally, he is the president of the Digital Progress Institute, a noteworthy telecom and tech brand also based in D.C. Prior to his current leadership roles, Mr. Thayer excelled as an associate attorney at Phillips Lytle LLP between 2020 and 2021, and he was a member of the policy counsel for ACT, The App Association from 2017 to 2020. At the onset of his career, he worked in several legal assistant roles in California between 2011 and 2012, and since then, he has found a wealth of success working alongside many other professional peers and colleagues.
As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Thayer pursued a formal education, initially earning a liberal studies degree in law and communication, with a minor in human communication, at California State University, Fullerton in 2010. He subsequently continued his studies and ultimately achieved a Juris Doctor in communications, intellectual property and administrative law at the Washington College of Law in 2015. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Thayer has been licensed to practice law by The District of Columbia Bar, The State of California Bar, and the Federal Circuit Bar Association. In his creative endeavors, he has published numerous articles with professional journals and blogs pertaining to his work in the field, with his most recent 2022 piece being “On TikTok, It’s All Fun and Games Until China Wants Your Info,” from the Wall Street Journal. Attributing much of his success to his drive and passion, Mr. Thayer is particularly proud to have established his own firm and company.
