From 2012 to 2020, he served as an associate with Koehler & Isaacs LLP and in-house counsel to the Correction Officers Benevolent Association on Rikers Island.
Beginning his legal career as a prosecutor and assistant district attorney with the District Attorney’s Office in the Bronx, New York, from 2006 to 2012, Mr. Kirsch has also found success as a writer, publishing an article in the New York Daily News in 2015. He remains affiliated with the Bronx County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and multiple law enforcement associations. Mr. Kirsch is experienced in both criminal defense law and disciplinary law.
In preparation for his career pursuits, Mr. Kirsch attended Hofstra University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in international business in 2001. In 2006, he graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. Mr. Kirsch became involved in his profession because of his fascination with crime reporting in the news as a child and his passion for helping others. He attributes his success to his mentors and role models. In 2007, he was admitted to practice in the state of New York.
Mr. Kirsch has received multiple internal awards through his work with corrections officers in recognition of his accomplishments as a legal professional. He considers his work in the criminal defense field, primarily assisting underserved immigrants, to be the highlight of his career. He works to vacate their convictions and help them avoid deportation or jail in order to reclaim their lives. Mr. Kirsch also assists these immigrants with obtaining United States citizenship. In the coming years, he hopes to experience the continued success of his career.
