He was raised by a single mother of four, and the hard work ethic his mother instilled in him drives his career success to this day. Mr. Pequeño takes his casework very seriously, as his clients’ finances and custody of children can be at stake. He works hard to strategize and push for his clients’ needs and interests in court.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Pequeño attended Northern Illinois University from 1997 to 2001, earning a Bachelor of Science in political science. He went on to earn a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Miami School of Law in 2004 and was admitted to practice by the Illinois State Bar Association the same year. Mr. Pequeño also holds a mediation certification in professional studies from Northwestern University, which he earned in 2020.
For his accomplishments as a legal professional, Mr. Pequeño has been recognized with numerous awards. Named to the Top 10 Best Attorneys in Exceptional and Outstanding Client Service and the Top 10 Client Satisfaction by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys in 2016 and 2017, he was also listed as a Distinguished Lawyer by Expert Network. The American Society of Legal Advocates also named Mr. Pequeño to the Top 40 Family Lawyers Under Forty in 2017.
Mr. Pequeño has maintained his affiliation with several professional associations, including the Northwest Suburban Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. In his free time, Mr. Pequeño enjoys playing sports, including soccer, golf, and playing tennis with his daughter. He is also a season ticket holder with the Chicago Cubs. In the coming years, he hopes to have multiple new locations for his firm and three more attorneys under his employ.
