Furthermore, he has been additionally active as an alderman for the city of Des Plaines, Illinois, and the owner of Capparelli and Chester since 1999. Prior to his present positions, Mr. Chester served with the Pepsi-Cola Co. as the vice president of public affairs from 1990 to 1999 and the director of public affairs from 1979 to 1990.

Mr. Chester previously worked with the Illinois Manufacturing Association as the director of energy and environmental programs from 1976 to 1979 and the director of research from 1974 to 1976. He had also been appointed as a partner with Steam-A-Way in Cornwall, Connecticut in 1973. Mr. Chester began his career in the field of education, refining his skills in several tutoring and teaching positions between 1970 and 1973.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Chester pursued an education at Brown University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1970. He continued his academic efforts with a Master of Education at Tufts University in 1972. He concluded his studies at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2004, graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. In addition to these accomplishments, Mr. Chester is admitted to practiced law by the Illinois State Bar Association.

Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Chester has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. Notably, he has found success as the founder of Keep Chicago Beautiful, a post he has cited as the highlight of his expansive career. He has further contributed to such civic efforts as the Chicago O’Hare Noise Committee. Illinois Project Liability, Illinois Clean and Beautiful, Chicago Clean Streak and the Greater Chicago Committee to Use Energy Wisely, to name a few. Renowned as a man of integrity, Mr. Chester has found success with his written works as well, having self-published 13 novels.

In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Chester has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. In 2012, he was presented with the National Community Service Award. Likewise, he was recognized with a Mediation Award from the Illinois Institute of Technology and the Chairman’s Award from the Pepsi-Cola Co. Attributing his success to his ability to listen and adapt to different points-of-view, Mr. Chester hopes to become represented by a major publisher and widen the influence of his books in the coming years.
