Janet Hetherwick Pumphrey, attorney at the Law Offices of Janet Hetherwick Pumphrey, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of law.
Having accumulated over three decades of experience in law, Janet Hetherwick Pumphrey has thrived as an attorney at her own private practice since 1992, specializing in appellate practice and murder appeals. In addition to operating her own business, she has also worked as a member of the legal counsel at KP Law P.C. (formerly Kopelman and Paige) since 2005. Prior to fulfilling the responsibilities of her current positions, Ms. Pumphrey began her career working as a litigation associate with Cain, Hibbard, Myers and Cook between 1990 and 1992. In addition to her primary vocation, she is also a dedicated photographer, managing the Janet Pumphrey Gallery since 2020.
Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Pumphrey cultivated a formal education for herself, earning a Bachelor of Arts in history at H. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College, part of the Tulane University of Louisiana, in 1971, and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the School of Law at Western New England University in 1990. In addition to her academic credentials, she is licensed to practice law by the Massachusetts Bar Association, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the Supreme Court of the United States. In light of her dedication in the field, she has been received several accolades over the course of her career, including being recognized as a Super Lawyer in New England from 2016 to 2021 and as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Massachusetts by the National Trial Lawyers Association in 2018. Ms. Pumphrey attributes much of her success to her dedication, perseverance, and ability to develop positive relationships with her clients, and she is thankful for her father, a fellow attorney who inspired her to pursue a career in the field of law.
