After initially obtaining a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Colorado College in Colorado Springs in 1981, Ms. Brown subsequently earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington in 1985. She has been admitted to practice law before the United States District Court in the Eastern District of Washington, United States Supreme Court, and all Washington State courts. 

After finding much success in the oil industry in the 1980s, Ms. Brown prospered as a legal secretary and then managing partner for a number of years with Paine Hamblen, LLP, a premier firm in Spokane representing state- and federally-chartered commercial banks, credit unions and bank holding companies in their mergers and acquisition activities. Since 2016, Ms. Brown has excelled as founding principal and managing partner with KSB Litigation, P.S. in Spokane, where her practice focuses on all areas of family law and divorce, as well as civil litigation. She specializes in family law, focusing specifically on cases of dissolution proceedings, high asset valuations, child custody, child relocation, child support, and protection and restraining order proceedings. In addition to matters of family law, Ms. Brown also represents companies in environmental litigation, as well as individuals who have been subject to workplace harassment and discrimination.

Recognized as one of the 10 Best Attorneys and one of the 10 Best for Client Satisfaction by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys, Ms. Brown attributes her success to her love of learning as well as her diligence. As a career highlight, she cites rising through the ranks to become managing partner, both at Paine Hamblen, LLP and KSB Litigation, as well as becoming the first female lawyer to assume a managing partner role at a major firm in Spokane, an accomplishment that was featured in several news publications in the state. Ms. Brown also takes pride in the interesting cases with which she has dealt, as well as the gestures of appreciation she has received from happy clients. Additionally, she is gratified by having established and maintained a business that provides not only long-term employment but also prestige and highly fulfilling work.

In the coming years, Ms. Brown will be passing on her practice to a worthy recipient while ensuring that the firm continues to move forward after she and her husband decide to leave it. She is also working on a project for an inventor who was a former client who is in the process of bringing a mineral product to the market that Ms. Brown believes will be remarkable product, given its potential benefit to various applications in the medical field, including skin cancer, wounds and burns.
