Mr. Willey obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting in 1973 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1978 from The University of Texas at Arlington. His bar admissions include the United States Tax Court, United States Court of Federal Claims, United States District Court, Northern District of Texas, United States Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of Texas, and the United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Texas and he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Certification in Real Estate Planning and Probate Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

After providing superior service as an accountant with Ernst & Ernst CPAs in Fort Worth, Texas from 1972 to 1974, Mr. Willey excelled as an law clerk with, Hilgers, Watkins, Ledbetter & Hays in Austin, Texas from 1976 to 1978 and as an accountant with Rolater, Ducote & Belew in Dallas from 1978 to 1979. He then prospered as an associate with Hill, Heard & Oneal in Arlington, Texas from 1979 to 1981 before founding the Law Office of Stephen D. Willey in Arlington the following year, where he specializes in business estate planning, probate and wills-trusts-probate, elder law and taxation.

Avidly interested in assisting his community, Mr. Willey was the founding director of Texas Alliance Boys and Girls Clubs, Inc. from 2002 to 2005, vice president of Texas Alliance Boys and Girls Clubs, Inc. from 2000 to 2005 and district committee chairman of the Boy Scouts of America from 1989 to 1994. He has garnered leadership and fundraising awards from the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Boy Scouts of America. Additionally, Mr. Willey has imparted his knowledge as a field adjunct instructor for the University of Texas at Arlington in 2005 and an adjunct professor with Texas A&M Law School in 2004 and also with Texas Wesleyan University.

Mr. Willey’s professional memberships include Texas Exes at The University of Texas at Austin, The Mid-Cities Association of CPAs, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Arlington Association of CPAs and the Arlington Association of CPAs. He is also an accredited estate planner by the National Association Estate Planning Councils.

After graduation from college, Mr. Willey began working as a CPA and he has continued the same work ever since. He did not prefer auditing, as he wanted to help clients more directly in law, as it relates to taxes, which led him to apply to law school. One career highlight that stood out the most to him was being recognized for his professional competence, as it is not often that a local bar association requests a local attorney to speak at a conference. Additionally, Mr. Willey cites becoming the keynote speaker for commencement at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2005. In the coming years, he plans to continuing helping people and enjoying his grandchildren.
