Douglas Shayne, Attorney at Blumen & Shayne, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law.
Mr. Shayne began his education at New York University before continuing his studies with Brooklyn College. He graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from New York Law School in 2000. From 2000 to 2005, he began his career as an associate attorney for multiple law firms. His next challenge was becoming a senior trial attorney for multiple firms before becoming a managing trial attorney and a managing trial partner.
In 2021, Mr. Shayne was honored among the Top 100 by the National Trial Lawyers and as a Lawyer of Distinction by Power Lawyers. He has also been recognized among the Top 10 by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys. His areas of expertise include litigation, medical malpractice and personal injury. He attributes his success to his natural abilities to think quickly, to communicate well and to relate easily to people. His competitive nature also helped him to get ahead in his career.
Mr. Frank Wenick, a former bureau chief of the New York Attorney General’s Office, was a mentor to Mr. Shayne and helped him learn litigation. During his career, he has reached settlements worth more than one million dollars in over 20 different cases. His proudest career achievement, so far, was working on a multi-million-dollar malpractice case.
Mr. Shayne is additionally active as a volunteer with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project and the Salvation Army. In the future, he plans to expand his business and begin practicing law in the state of Florida.
