Having accrued more than 15 years of professional experience, Mr. Gabovich currently excels as an attorney and founding partner of Boruchov, Gabovich & Associates, P.C. Since 2020, he has primarily focused his practices on matters relating to New York State and Federal tax controversy and compliance matters. He builds off earlier experience as a tax attorney for Tenenbaum Law, PC from 2018 to 2020, having also been an international tax attorney at UHY LLP and Christopher J. Bryne, PLLC between 2015 and 2018. Notably, Mr. Gabovich earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and investment from Baruch College in 2010 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Fordham University in 2013.

Early in his legal career, Mr. Gabovich gained vast expertise serving as a legal intern for New York City Transit and the Federal Litigation Clinic, as a summer law clerk for the Honorable Michael Gerstein of the New York State Unified Court System and as a research assistant at Fordham Law School. Having also worked for Lincoln Square Legal Services from 2012 to 2013, he went on to serve Justice Ellen M. Coin as a judicial intern and was a New York State Excelsior Fellow through the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. In 2015, he was a litigation associate at the Law Offices of Ira S. Newman.

Mr. Gabovich’s aptitude for tax law comes from his background in the business and finance world, as he initially studied business administration. Between 2007 and 2010, he had worked in multiple roles, including as a customer service representative intern for Sovereign Bank, business development intern for Merrill Lynch, president of corporate relations for AIESEC Baruch, marketing director assistant for CBBLD, Inc. and an intern of the Zahakos Group of UBS Wealth Management. Today, Mr. Gabovich maintains membership with organization such as the New York State Bar Association, the Suffolk County Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association.

Upon reflection, Mr. Gabovich attributes his success to his upbringing, as he was born in Ukraine and came to the United States with his family at the age of three when the Soviet Union fell. His parents were hardworking individuals, his mother achieved a master’s degree in Ukraine, but it was not recognized it in the United States, leading her to study again. On the other hand, his father worked three jobs to support their family until he passed away due to a heart attack. His parents instilled in him the importance of a good education, as well as a good work ethic. With this in mind, Mr. Gabovich makes sure to set goals for his professional growth, which currently includes working with more low-income clients in the coming years.
