After initially obtaining a Bachelor of Science in marketing with a minor in communication in 2004 from the University of Dayton in Ohio, Mr. Schulte continued his education with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2009 from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. He is licensed to practice in Indiana and Kentucky.
After gaining experience as a sales account manager from 2004 to 2006 with New Age Technologies, Mr. Schulte served as a teaching assistant, Contract II, and a DSS notetaker with Thomas M. Cooley Law School from 2007 to 2008. He then provided superior service as a clerk and extern with The Krenek Law Offices and Ewing, McMillin & Willis PLLC in 2009.
Mr. Schulte prospered as an attorney with Lloyd & McDaniel, PLLC, one of Kentucky’s largest creditors’ rights firms, from 2010 to 2012. After joining Smith Carpenter Cummins & Schulte, LLC in 2012, he was made a partner in 2017. Mr. Schulte excels in a wide range of service to Kentucky and Indiana clients including bankruptcy, creditor representation, debtor representation, family law, criminal defense, estate planning, business law, and probate. In family law, he represents clients concerning divorce, custody, visitation, parenting time, child support, paternity, and adoption matters.
To remain aware of changes and advancements in his field, Mr. Schulte maintains affiliations with the Indiana Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, Louisville Bar Association and Clark County Bar Association. He has received an AV Preeminent peer rating, the highest possible, from Martindale-Hubbell, signifying the highest level of professional excellence by Martindale-Hubbell’s rating system and is based on a peer review of a lawyer’s legal knowledge, communication skills, and ethical standards.
Mr. Schulte attributes his success to his parents and his and his older brothers. He is extremely thankful for the support system that good parenting can give a young student or a young entrepreneur. In the course of his career, he has also received great mentorship that influenced him to make himself better. As a career highlight, he really believes as his greatest contribution is being able to relate to his clients and explain law to them in a way that is easy to understand. Helping in this way has made him feel rewarded because access to law is not always easy for a lot of people.
In the coming years, Mr. Schulte intends to continue to grow his law practice. He aspires to participate in more networking by treating people with respect and paying it forward. With no plan of retiring early, he will continue to help expand legal aid to those who need it.
