Ms. Hartley attributes her success to work ethic and the values that she received from her father and from the Marine Corps, as well as to her deep faith, which continues to guide her actions. She became involved in her profession because she was passionate about helping others, as well as her belief that everything she learned in signals intelligence and in the Marine Corps applies in the practice of law. As a career highlight, she cites co-founding the Pray for the Courts organization, which is very near and dear to her heart. Ms. Hartley is most proud of the difference that they have made in their clients’ lives. Additionally, Patricia Lamas, her former attorney and now her partner at Hartley Lamas Et Al. was instrumental in her pursuit of her law degree.
In the coming years, Ms. Hartley hopes for Pray for the Courts to be adopted in courthouses throughout the country. The organization’s goal is to tell life stories in faith as an inspiration for clients and people who work in the courts.
