Michael A. Guevara, Managing Shareholder at Guevara Law, P.C., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in municipal litigation.
After initially obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in business administration and history, cum laude, in 1996 from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas, Mr. Guevara continued his education with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1999 from the University of Texas School of Law at Austin. He excelled as a partner with Shotts, Trevino and Guevara, LLP from 2008 to 2013 and beginning in 2013, a shareholder at Shahan Guevara Decker and Arrott PLLC, a law firm focused on representing individuals, entrepreneurs, businesses, municipalities, agricultural producers, and landowners.
In 2021 Mr. Guevara became the founding shareholder of Guevara Law, P.C., where he represents various Texas municipalities as a city attorney advising city departments and public officials on a wide range of municipal law issues. He also serves as municipal court prosecutor to those represented municipalities. Additionally, he represents business owners, commercial developers, and families in public and private adoptions. Mr. Guevara served as a city council member and mayor pro-tem of Cedar Park from 2018 to 2020.
Mr. Guevara decided on a career in law in grade school when his parents, who had had all boys, decided to adopt a daughter, and he observed that a lawyer was necessary for the process. Still, in seventh grade, he realized that acquiring a law degree could put him in a position in which he can help a lot of people. As his career highlight, Mr. Guevara cites the opening of his own firm which has grown in one year to the point that he has been able to negotiate with multinational corporations to bring businesses to small municipalities and keep them there when they have been courted by other places.
Mr. Guevara’s goal in the coming years is to see the firm grow, prosper and have a solid presence in the county regarding the representation of small businesses.
