Since 2012, Mr. Fendley has found much success as a partner with Fendley & Etson in Clarksville, Tennessee, where his responsibilities include handling domestic, divorce and custody cases; assisting criminal trials, as well as civil matters, including divorce, custody, and child support; and managing the office. Mr. Fendley has been named one of the three best-rated criminal defense lawyers in Clarksville by Three Best Rated, a noted customer review website. His memberships include the American Association of Premier Driving Under Influence (DUI) Attorneys, in which he was a founding member, as well as the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Mr. Fendley obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from Austin Peay State University in 2007 and continued his education with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Nashville School of Law in 2011. He began his legal career as a paralegal and clerk at the firm of his father, Mart G. Fendley, Esq., where he prospered from 2004 to 2012. In his dual roles, he was responsible for handling legal research; drafted pleadings including Motions for Summary Judgment, Motions to Suppress and Memorandums of Law; helped to prepare witnesses and attorneys prepare for court; settled personal injury cases; and assisted in settling several divorces.
Mr. Fendley attributes his success to hard work and honesty and was inspired to enter the legal profession by his father’s example. He considers his greatest career achievement to be winning an acquittal in a shooting case in a Walmart parking lot, in which the defendant was facing a first-degree murder charge. In the coming years, Mr. Fendley is hoping for continued success with his firm and intends to take more vacation time to see his family.
