Crystal Grace Rutherford, Principal Attorney at Excelsior Law, PLLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in medical law.
Having grown up in Spain during the dictatorship of Francisco Franco, Ms. Rutherford’s exposure to a fascist society propelled her desire to study law and civil rights. Upon earning a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Washington in 1992, she went on to attain a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Oregon School of Law and was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1997. At the start of her career, she served as an associate at David Vogel PLLC from 1998 to 2001 and at Badgley Mullins PLLC from 2001 to 2004. Subsequently, Ms. Rutherford excelled as the owner of the Law Office of Crystal Grace Rutherford for 14 years until 2018 when she changed the name of the firm to Excelsior Law, PLLC.
For the past three years, Ms. Rutherford has served as the principal attorney of her firm in Seattle, Washington, where she is dedicated to representing individuals who have been seriously injured by the negligence of others, often involving brain and neurological and orthopedic injuries. Her undergraduate studies in psychology drew her to the medical realm of law, in which she can apply research on various types of injuries and how they affect the functions of the human body to her practice. Philosophically, she believes that lawyers must protect society. Finding great success in her profession, Ms. Rutherford was commended with Special Appreciation for her work in the civil rights section by the Washington State Trial Lawyers in 2003. Within the next five years, Ms. Rutherford aspires to handle more cases, as well as accomplish advocacy work for Latinos, whenever possible.
