Mr. Schmolke obtained a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 2001. He continued his education with a Juris Doctor from the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge in 2004. Mr. Schmolke is a member of the State Bar of Louisiana, the Baton Rouge Association, the Louisiana Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, the National Trial Lawyers Top 100, and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and is licensed to practice before all Louisiana District and Federal Courts, as well as the Fifth Circuit.
After receiving his license to practice, Mr. Schmolke excelled as an attorney from 2005 to 2008 with the firm of Kenneth W. Jones, Jr. APLC, Lafayette, where he handled personal injury, insurance defense, and subrogation cases. As assistant attorney general in the Louisiana Department of Justice from 2008 to 2010, Mr. Schmolke managed licensing and compliance issues, prosecuted license and permit suspensions and revocations, and oversaw appeals and judicial reviews at the 19th JDC and 1st Circuit. He thereupon prospered as a trial attorney from 2010 to 2016 with the firm of Spencer H. Calahan LLC in Baton Rouge and with Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys, Baton Rouge, from 2016 to 2021.
In May 2021, Mr. Schmolke founded Schmolke Law Firm LLC in Baton Rouge, where he has successfully represented thousands of injured clients over the course of his career in a wide variety of cases ranging from automobile accidents to trucking and wrongful death cases. He has obtained verdicts and settlements totaling over $40,000,000.
Attributing his success to his desire to help people and inspired by his father who was also an attorney, Mr. Schmolke considers his career highlight seeing the reactions of people he has been able to assist. As a lawyer who tries to tailor his practice more towards having a personal relationship with his clients, Mr. Schmolke would like to be thought of as honest, a man who kept his word and had integrity.
