Tobechuku T. Nwahiri, Esq., Attorney at Nwahiri Law PLLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in civil rights litigation.
Mr. Nwahiri obtained a Bachelor of Science in health information and informatics management from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in 2009 and followed with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law in Davie, Florida in 2014. He received valuable initial experience as a legal intern with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office in 2013 and as a certified intern with the Broward Public Defender’s Office, 17th Judicial Circuit, in 2014. He then prospered as an assistant public defender with the Broward office from 2014 to 2018, where he took more than 50 cases to trial and negotiated resolutions for thousands of clients.
Mr. Nwahiri excelled as an associate with the Colodny Fass firm in Sunrise from 2018 to 2019, representing various insurance companies in first-party disputes as well as representing their insureds in third-party personal liability actions. He thereupon founded Nwahiri Law PLLC in 2019, where he specializes in civil rights issues and police misconduct litigation. Mr. Nwahiri has been admitted to the Florida and Georgia Bars and can present cases before the United States Court of Appeals 11th Circuit and United States District Courts in the Middle, Northern and Southern Districts of Florida and the Northern District of Georgia.
Mr. Nwahiri’s memberships include the T.J. Reddick Bar Association, an organization dedicated to promoting the professional excellence of Black attorneys in Broward County. He also serves as public relations officer for the Nigerian-American Foundation, which promotes the image and interests of the Nigerian immigrant community in South Florida. In addition, he has been named to the National Trial Lawyers list of “40 under 40” by the National Black Lawyers group. Mr. Nwahiri practices with the motto “I don’t take the case to trial. I get rid of the case pre-trial.”
