Ryan Patrick Waters, JD, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Dodson & Waters LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in civil defense.
With extensive expertise in civil litigation, estate planning, real estate and criminal causes, Mr. Waters has dedicated his career to providing outstanding legal services to many communities of the Southeastern United States. Growing up around many lawyers who were perceived as bad people, from an early age he developed a desire to change the public’s perspective about what a lawyer could be. Above all, his goal was to become a lawyer with passion and heart to lead the change that people wanted to see in the world. As a result, he initially obtained a Bachelor of Science in human resource management and business administration in 2009. Thereafter, he earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri Columbia School of Law in 2014.
Mr. Waters began his professional career in 2013 as a research assistant for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Commissioner’s Office. Prior, he found success as the assistant manager of EB Games from 2003 to 2005 and Valhalla’s Gate from 2007 to 2011. Dedicated to providing assistance to a multitude of underserved communities, he has contributed pro bono services to the Jefferson City Samaritan Center and has served as a defense liaison to the Cole County Treatment Court and an advocate for the Veterans Advocacy Clinic of the Equal Rights Association.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Waters has maintained professional affiliations with the Estate Planning Committee of the Cole County Car Association, and the Thomas Elwood Inns of Court. Though his career has been suffused with highlights, he is most proud to have established a modern good service law firm within a city that desperately needed new lawyers. He attributes his success to living by the “golden rule,” which he believes has gained him the respect of many judges, clients and colleagues. Looking toward the future, his goal is to add two additional lawyers to his practice who will expand on his ideas to have a greater influence on the local community.
