She established The Barrows Firm, P.C. in 2006, and has since opened locations in Southlake and Fort Worth, Texas.
Ms. Barrows earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in criminal justice at Sam Houston State University in 1997. During this time, she completed an internship with a criminal defense firm, where she provided shelter and protective orders for victims against their abusers. As a result, she was inspired to pursue a career in law, and was awarded her Juris Doctor by Oklahoma City University in 2000. Upon graduation, she was licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Texas, and became a Certified Family Law Mediator in 2017.
Dedicated to her local community, Ms. Barrows has contributed on the board of the Carroll Education Foundation and the fundraising committee of St. Laurence Anglican Church. She considers the highlight of her work to have been helping a client gain conservatorship of his grandson after his daughter passed away unexpectedly. She has been presented with accolades such as the Southlake Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award, the Fort Worth Business Press Great Women of Texas Award and both the Bench Bar Leadership Award and the James Barlow “Big Heart” Award from the Tarrant County Bar Association, and is proud to have been named a Top Attorney by Southlake Style, Fort Worth Magazine and 360 West and a Metroport Teen Court Judge of the Year. Looking toward the future, she aims to continue expanding the business while applying her skillset in mediation.
