Harold Frederick “Rick” Boardman, Counsel at Northern Line Consulting, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in corporate law.
After graduating from George Washington University with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, with honors, in 1964, Mr. Boardman was admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia. He first served as a general attorney for the Federal Home Loan Bank Board in Washington, D.C, before joining the firm of Hoffmann-LaRoche, Inc., in 1966. Mr. Boardman remained with the firm until 1994, in which he served in several roles including as an attorney, secretary, associate general counsel, vice president, general counsel, and member of the board of directors and the executive committee. Punctuating his appointments as attorney and secretary, he served as a captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps of the United States Air Force until 1973. After his tenure with Hoffmann-LaRoche, Mr. Boardman was employed by Rhone-Poulenc, Inc., in a myriad of executive-level positions before departing in 1999. Shortly thereafter, he served Aventis Pharmaceuticals and Gibbons, Del Deo, Dolan, Griffinger & Vecchione until 2005, as well as Global Emergency Group between 2008 and 2009. Mr. Boardman has excelled as counsel with Northern Line Consulting since 2011.
During his career, Mr. Boardman completed the Advanced Management Program at the Fuqua School of Business of Duke University. Outside of his primary work endeavors, he is a supporter of A Place To Be, a nonprofit organization that aids individuals of all ages with their life challenges and medical problems through means of expressive arts, such as music, dancing and artwork. Additionally, he has sat on the board of directors of numerous other entities, such as the Atoka Chase Association, the Hideaway Beach Association and the Hideaway Beach Tax District. A retired corporate counsel member of the Virginia State Bar Association, he is especially proud of his career achievements over the course of more than 55 years. He is especially proud of adopting his grandchildren, Kyle and Ashley, whom he and his wife have raised.
