The Honorable Thomas J. Wynne, retired Superior Court Judge at Snohomish County Superior Court, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the legal system.
Mr. Wynne is a retired judge and attorney who dedicated more than 40 years to presiding over cases in Snohomish County, Washington. An alum of the University of Washington, Mr. Wynne earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1965 and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1968. Between 1969 and 1971, he served in the United States military on active duty stationed in Germany, reaching the rank of Captain and acting as a company commander before transitioning to reserve status in 1972. He began his legal career the same year as a deputy prosecuting attorney for Snohomish County, and was appointed a District Court Judge in 1979, a position he held until 1992.
From 1993 until his retirement in 2017, Mr. Wynne was a judge for the Snohomish County Superior Court, hearing a variety of cases ranging from family law to criminal trials and helping to institute sweeping changes in the state’s court information system and records management. He is a two-time chair of the Snohomish County Superior Court Budget Committee, serving from 1996 until 2003 and again from 2008 until 2016, former vice chair of the Washington Judicial Information Systems Committee, and chair of the Washington State Judiciary Data Dissemination Committee. Though retired from full-time service, Mr. Wynne remains a pro tem judge in the Snohomish County Superior, Juvenile, and District Courts, and the Bothell County Municipal Court. He is a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Lynnwood and is past president of the Snohomish County Reserve Officers Association.
