Jeffrey Michael Ammons Jr., Contract Attorney at KLDiscovery, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in contract law.
Drawing inspiration from the example of his father, Mr. Ammons aspired to become a lawyer in his own right. Upon earning a Bachelor of Arts in history from Westminster College in 2007, he went on to receive a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2010. He had previously gained early experience as an intern for the Pittsburgh Police Historical Association, an intern for the Walworth County Circuit Court and a 711 law clerk for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. Mr. Ammons took on his first professional role as an independent associate for Lionheart Assurance Solutions LP from 2010 to 2011.
Progressing in his professional endeavors, Mr. Ammons found his footing in the area of contract law. In 2011, he took on the role of a document reviewer attorney for Synergy Legal Professionals, where he remained until 2015, after which he joined Advanced Discovery as a contract attorney until 2017. Presently, he continues to flourish as a project attorney for McDermott Will & Emery LLP and as a document reviewer for KLDiscovery, positions he began in 2015 and 2017, respectively. Having enjoyed conducting document review during the discovery process, Mr. Ammons has worked on numerous high-profile cases, including with the Bank of America after the last recession and Volkswagen regarding the emissions tampering scandal.
To remain aware of advancements and changes in his field, Mr. Ammons maintains his affiliation with the National Lawyers Guild and Chicago Bar Association, of which he is a founding member of the Public Outreach Committee of the Young Lawyers Section. He attributes his success to networking, along with his passion for his work. Looking toward the future, Mr. Ammons aims to continue expanding the scope of his contract law work and hopes to dedicate more time to pro bono cases.
