Drawing on more than five decades of expertise in healthcare advocacy and lobbying, Ms. Zollar is recognized for her exemplary performance as a policy consultant with the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association (AMRPA), where she has found success in various positions of high leadership and legal service since 1994. Among them, she has served as a general counsel, the director of medical rehabilitation, the vice president of policy and the vice president of government relations and policy development, among others. Ms. Zollar previously contributed as the vice president of Futures Rehabilitation Management from 1998 until 2016, and as a general counsel on behalf of the National Association of Rehabilitation Facilities between 1982 and 1994.
In a career suffused with highlights, Ms. Zollar is most proud to have assisted in the passage of several laws that helped ordinary Americans receive rehabilitation services, including those who suffered from strokes, car accidents, or traumatic brain injuries. She initially became involved in her field as a legislative assistant to Congressman William Anderson in 1970, after which she joined the National Institute of Education, where she remained active as a planning consultant and assistant for government and external relations from 1972 until 1975. Following this period, Ms. Zollar joined Joe W. Fleming II PC, a law firm in Washington, D.C., as an associate from 1975 until 1982.
Well regarded for her vast contributions to the field of healthcare and rehabilitation advocacy, Ms. Zollar has received numerous accolades from the AMRPA, including a plaque for her recognition of service and a Leadership Excellence Award in 2012. Additionally, she was bestowed with the Helen Hayes MacArthur Award from the Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Hospital in 2008 and a Distinguished Public Service Award from the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 1994. Ms. Zollar’s accomplishments are largely driven by her education, through which she received a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, an Associate of Science in Nursing from Union County College and a Master of Science in Nursing from Kean State University.
