Title: Trial Lawyer
Company: Broussard & Williamson
Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana, United States
Michael J. Williamson, Trial Lawyer at Broussard & Williamson, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in personal injury.
Mr. Williamson’s interest in a career in law was inspired by his childhood experiences watching his parents pursue legal action after purchasing a home with plumbing problems. His earliest memories of the legal realm were the time he spent in the law office who represented his parents listening to the attorneys’ processes and language. With their help, his parents were able to sell the house and move on without having to shoulder the financial or personal burden of the defective materials that ruined their home, leaving Mr. Williamson with a drive to support others in the same way.
Mr. Williamson attained a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Louisiana State University in 2002 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Louisiana State University Law Center in 2006. He went on to spend 12 years defending insurance companies and corporations, where he developed experience trying and winning federal and state court jury trials throughout Louisiana. Since 2006, he has excelled as a trial lawyer with Broussard & Williamson, where he runs the litigation department and specializes in personal injury and trauma.
In recognition of his career growth, Mr. Williamson was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star each year from 2016 to 2019. He attributes his success to hard work, a competitive personality, and caring about the outcome for his clients. Likewise, he cites his most notable achievements were the 10 trials he had on the defense side and six of them resulted in a complete defense verdict. To remain abreast of his industry, Mr. Williamson maintains professional affiliation with the Louisiana Association for Justice and the American Affiliation of Justice. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching soccer, running, and camping with his family, and he has provided pro bono services to Holden’s Hope.
