Title: Attorney at Law
Company: Jack A Addesso PLLC
Location: Carmel, New York, United States

Jack A. Addesso, Attorney at Law, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in zoning and real estate law.

Mr. Addesso is a real estate lawyer with over 48 years of excellence specializing in land use and zoning issues. A talented student-athlete and actor and an award-winning competitive debater, his interest in the law emerged at a young age and he found encouragement from his teachers and coaches. He attended Iona College, earning a Bachelor’s degree in 1969, and continued his studies at Albany Law School, completing his Juris Doctor in 1973. Mr. Addesso has been sworn in to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the New York State Office of Court Administration. He started his legal career as an attorney for the Office of the Corporation Counsel for the City of New York and left to join the Law Offices of Riley & Riley. At Riley & Riley, Mr. Addesso’s scope of practice included both civil and criminal matters, corporate law, personal injury cases, and litigation for clients across New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

As a part of his decision to focus on zoning and real estate law, Mr. Addesso left Riley & Riley to establish an independent law office, Jack A. Addesso, PLLC, where he continues to practice. Mr. Addesso advises those looking to pursue careers in law that they will have to remain flexible, curious, and lifelong students of the profession, as laws and precedent are constantly changing, emphasizing that “bottom line, it’s hard work.” Throughout his career, Mr. Addesso has developed a reputation as one of the leading minds in land use planning, development, and municipal law, and he is the former chair of the Zoning Board of New York. He remains active in both his local community and the legal community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Mount Carmel Senior Housing Development and the Box Hill Homeowners’ Association while maintaining his affiliation with the Trial Lawyers of New York City, the Mount Vernon and Westchester County Bar Associations, and the New York State Bar. Mr. Addesso looks forward to retiring in the upcoming years to travel and spend more time with his two adult children and his wife of 47 years.
