Delilah Knox Rios, Attorney, Mediator, and Certified Family Law Specialist at Delilah Knox Rios, Attorney at Law APLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in family law and mediation.
Ms. Rios is a private practice attorney and mediator with more than 40 years of fighting on behalf of clients in Southern California. Raised by a family that instilled her with a fundamental understanding of the necessity of helping others and working for the good of the community, Ms. Rios was fascinated by the law as soon as she started to learn about it. Her first exposure to the law as a career path was at the age of six when she started watching the television drama “Perry Mason,” leaving her convinced that studying law would be one of the easiest ways to make a lasting positive impact on others. She earned an Associate of Arts in accounting from San Bernardino Valley College in 1976 and quickly continued her education at Western State University, completing a Bachelor of Science in Law in 1978 and a Juris Doctor the following year.
In 1980, Ms. Rios was admitted to practice law in the Central, Eastern, and Southern districts of California, and entered private practice in San Bernardino. She relocated to Diamond Bar, California in 1984, and expanded her practice area to include Orange County in 1994. Throughout her career, she has focused on working with other professionals in the same field and taking a proactive approach to continuing education. She attributes her professional success to her commitment to constant growth, and in 1989, she was licensed as a mediator, collaborative lawyer, and family law specialist in the state of California. Ms. Rios has developed a reputation for her skill in complex divorce, paternity, child custody and support, and community property cases, and she considers the highlight of her work to be the positive feedback she receives from clients.
As part of her commitment to community service, Ms. Rios volunteers as special counsel and as a mediator for clients in San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Riverside, and Orange Counties. She has been recognized for her compassion and legal excellence with the prestigious Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and is a nine-time California Super Lawyer. In her personal time, Ms. Rios enjoys reading and film, and she looks forward to refocusing her practice to collaborative mediation only within the next several years.
