Mr. Hirsch is a labor and employment attorney in private practice since 2019 as the owner of the Law Office of Raphael B. Hirsch. Prior to beginning his journey through the law, Mr. Hirsch completed an Associate of Arts in criminal justice from Lebanon College and started working as a drug and alcohol counselor for Headrest, Inc. between 2008 and 2010. He continued his education, earning a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice and safety studies from Southern New Hampshire University in 2013 before completing a Juris Doctor at the New England School of Law in 2017. Mr. Hirsch was awarded a Master of Laws by Northeastern University School of Law in 2018. While studying, he began to practice law, working briefly as a law clerk in the Law Office of Elda James in 2015 before becoming a student ambassador for Casetext the following year.
In 2018, Mr. Hirsch was accepted by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services as a spring litigation intern, followed by a one-year legal fellowship with Green Advocates USA. He opened the Law Office of Raphael B. Hirsch in 2019 and took on multiple pro bono projects for the Fair Employment Project and other organizations during the same year. Through 2020 and 2021, Mr. Hirsch acted as counsel to the Burger Law Group, PLLC, and prior to his work for the practice, he had researched and written several in-depth complaints, including “Extreme Poverty in America: United Nations Special Rapporteurs,” 2018, “Socfin in Liberia,” 2018, and “Socfin Complaint: International Finance Corporation,” 2019. Mr. Hirsch has served as a member of the board and chair of the foreign committee of the Paid Medical Leave Act and sits on the executive board of NELA and the Massachusetts Bar Association. He recalls drafting, submitting, and acting as lead counsel on an international complaint without having his trial notebook with him and ending the case with a favorable judgment as one of his most outstanding courtroom experiences, describing it as a “great learning experience.” Within five years, Mr. Hirsch hopes to be married and working on a fiction project, in addition to continuing his legacy of legal service to the community at large.
