Steven Lee Meltzer, Partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the legal profession.

Growing up around his father, a lifelong entrepreneur, Mr. Meltzer was inspired to work with entrepreneurs in his own professional endeavors. He attended Brown University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in 1968, and continued his studies at Harvard University, earning both a Master of Business Administration, with high distinction, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1973. Subsequently, Mr. Meltzer was admitted to practice by the State of Maryland in 1973, the District of Columbia in 1974, and the State of Virginia in 1997. In 1973, he began as an associate with Shaw, Pittman, Potts & Trowbridge, now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, rising to become a member of the managing board and serving the firm as a partner since 2005.  Prior to his professional endeavors, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1968 to 1974.

In addition to his primary responsibilities, Mr. Meltzer is the director of CDIS, Inc., a post he has held since 2005, has been the lead director of Micronic Technologies Inc. since 2015, and has worked as the director of Integrated Agriculture Systems Inc. since 2020. He had also contributed his time as the director of the Harvard Business School Club since 2016, as the board director of the New England Institute of Technology since 2000, as the director of the Maryland Technology Council since 1995, and with the Maryland Healthcare Product Development Corp. since 2000, among numerous other affiliations. Mr. Meltzer was the executive editor of Technology Law Notes from 1986 to 1992, and has maintained memberships with numerous bar associations and industry organizations. Named to the Best Lawyers in America since 2006, he was also the recipient of the Entrepreneurial Navigator Award from the Northern Virginia Technology Council in 2011, among other honors. In recognition of his career success, Mr. Meltzer has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and Who’s Who in the World.
