Kristine Honiotes, Attorney at Honiotes Law Office, Ltd, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in criminal defense.

Ms. Honiotes did not plan to go into criminal defense right out of law school because wanted to work in Guardians Ad litem. Before starting on her career path, Ms. Honiotes earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2002. She then received a Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law in 2005.

Ms. Honiotes’ most notable achievement was establishing her firm and being the principal owner. She is also proud of being the only female criminal defense attorney in Will County. She began her career in 2006 as an assistant public defender at Will County Public Defender, where she remained until 2014. From there, she became an associate. For the last 15 years, she has been an attorney and principal owner of Honiotes Law Office, Ltd. She always made sure to give back to her community, becoming a member of the Joliet Junior Women’s Club and working as an assistant softball coach. She is also a former member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

Looking towards the future, Ms. Honiotes would like to continue to build her practice. As a testament to her success, she was named Lead Counsel Rated for Criminal Law State Felony & Misdemeanor and Elite Lawyer in Criminal Law. She has been inducted as a member of numerous organizations including the Will County Bar Association, Will County Women’s Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and the Criminal Justice Section Council, to name a few.
