John W. Dillon, Principal Attorney at Dillon Law Group APC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in firearms law.
As an expert in Second Amendment constitutional law and federal firearms compliance and regulations, Mr. Dillon’s client base consists of gun owners, gun shops and gun rights organizations. Growing up with a passion for law, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in European and American history in 2010 and a Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in 2013. While a law student, Mr. Dillon purchased a gun to use recreationally at a local gun range. After swapping out the barrel of his gun, which he initially thought to be a felony, he was inspired to obtain a firm command of the laws associated with gun maintenance and ownership. Thereafter, he established a firearms practice in order to assist with a broad range of firearms-related matters including constitutional law, civil rights matters and firearms litigation arising under the Second Amendment in federal and state courts.
Mr. Dillon is licensed by the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Courts of the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California. Moreover, he is certified as an NRA firearms instructor and an NRA range safety officer. He has contributed his expertise at the Firearms Law Convention in 2017 and 2018, the Gun Rights Policy Conference in 2019 and appears regularly as a special guest host of the popular radio show, “Gun Sports Radio,” on AM 1170 The Answer San Diego KCBQ. For his achievements, he is proud to have been a recipient of the California Senate Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Community Service in 2016 and the California Assembly Certificate of Recognition for Second Amendment Advocacy on Behalf of Gun Owners Throughout San Diego County. Looking toward the future, he aims to expand his practice to include additional second amendment attorneys.
