Antoine K. F. Smiley, Of Counsel at Reed Smith in the Energy and Natural Resources Industry Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in construction law.
Growing up, Mr. Smiley had always been interested in pursuing a career as a lawyer due to his natural ability to critically analyze, find truths from both sides, and achieve reality in his projects. An Australian native, he thereafter obtained a diploma of modern languages, a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University in Melbourne. He earned a graduate diploma of legal practice from the College of Law in Melbourne and is a graduate of the leadership development program at the National University of Singapore and the IA Advocacy Program at Universite Sorbonne in Paris. Throughout his career, he is grateful to have found success contributing to international projects and arbitration in various locations across Australia, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Taiwan, Singapore and Europe. Since relocating to the United States, he has been licensed to practice law by the State Bars of Texas and California.
Specializing in projects and construction at Reed Smith in the Energy and Natural Resources Industry Group, Mr. Smiley’s clients include multinational oil and gas companies, global mining companies and leading infrastructure and energy companies and contractors. He has authored numerous articles for the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the International Construction Law Review. Additionally, he has maintained affiliations with the Society of Construction Law in America, the United Kingdom and Australia. For his accomplishments, he is proud to have been the recipient of the Brooking Prize and is recognized as a Next Generation Lawyer and a Rising Star by Legal 500 and Expert Guides. Looking toward the future, he aims to continue building the practice with the goal to become a partner in 2021.
