Mr. Brown has distinguished himself as the principal at Brown Counsel Law Firm, where he has enjoyed the ability to select his own clients and utilize advanced software since 2015. Previously, he served as the director of Rackemann Sawyer & Brewster PC, a shareholder of Adler Pollock & Sheehan PC and an associate of litigation at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
After facing a decision to pursue his doctorate at New York University, the University of Pennsylvania, or Northeastern Law School, Mr. Brown resolved to study at the latter institution, solidifying his choice to pursue a career in legal service. He had previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Haverford College in 1983, and a master’s degree in politics from New York University in 1985. Following this accomplishment, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Northeastern University School of Law in 1988. Upon completion of his degrees, Mr. Brown was admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, at the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
In a career suffused with highlights, Mr. Brown is most proud to have overseen a number of successful appeals, which saw several new laws established at the state level, most especially including a law in Massachusetts that set forth parameters for a security fraud action under state law, which was cited on a nationwide scale. As a testament to his success, he has been included in the Best Lawyers in America since 2013, secured an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell and was named to the Top 100 Massachusetts Super Lawyers. Eminently qualified in his field, Mr. Brown has also been inducted as a fellow of the Boston Bar Foundation Society of Fellows and the American Bar Association. Likewise, he is a member of the Boston and Federal Bar Associations.
